STUDY: Sustainable Aviation & ESG

The market study on raw materials and processes in the aeronautical industry with a focus on sustainability was developed by the Aerospace Brazil sector project, carried out by the São José dos Campos Technological Innovation Park (PIT) under an agreement with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). It was prepared by VITA Engenharia e Consultoria Ambiental and completed in March 2024.

The study compares the sustainability practices of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier and assesses how these practices apply to the Brazilian aerospace supply chain. Of the 24 practices adopted by more than one of the manufacturers studied, 75% are already in use in the Brazilian sector. The remaining six are presented as opportunities for companies, including the use of recycled materials in aircraft, research on sustainable composites and natural resins, and the recycling of carbon fiber waste.

The study is available in Portuguese.
